O projeto do artista britânico Robin Howie, denominado A “Dialogue with Public Space”, foi concebido para envolver as pessoas e confrontá-las com questionamentos a respeito dos usos dos espaços públicos frente seu potencial como elementos agregadores de vida e promotores de cidadania na oposição ao uso privativo, que segrega, barra e impede qualquer apropriação social do espaço.
As intervenções tipográficas na paisagem foram fotografadas pelo artista e compiladas em dois livros, um deles denominado “A Dialogue with Public Space” contido nas páginas ímpares e o outro ‘A Dialogue with Privately owned Public Space’, nas pares conforme explica o próprio artista abaixo em texto retirado de seu site:
These interventions where photographed and collated into a two-person book which engages the readers with space itself. Two books are bound together. One book is titled ‘A Dialogue with Public Space’ featuring all of the odd numbered pages, and the other ‘A Dialogue with Privately owned Public Space’ has all of the even numbered pages. The Two Person Books are formed to make sure that the two readers are engaged in what the other person is reading like a good conversation. Whilst the pages unfold to A0 proportions making the readers use and engage in space to talk about the content.
